The Peter Burfiend Farm is located on the west side of Basch Road just north of M-22. Peter Burfiend was born and raised on the Carsten Burfiend Farm about 1 1/2 miles away. The farm is part of the Port Oneida Rural Historic District of the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. The late afternoon shade offered soft light after a hot day of painting. In harmony, this painting was painted in late afternoon until late evening.
